New Children & Family Portrait Options!

Are you looking to create unique and meaningful portraits of your new baby, toddler or older children?

I am excited to announce new portrait packages and pricing for Infants, Children & Families at JSP.

The new "Simple Setup Portrait Session" is an option to allow the most natural moments and expressions to be captured in the comfort of your own home. This is a great option for toddlers and young children who may be intimidated by large studio lights or a strange environment. I use either natural lighting only or a small camera mounted lighting unit to fill any low light situations, allowing me the freedom to capture your little one as he or she naturally is. Outdoor sessions work great for these little ones too.

(Both of these portraits were taken with either natural light or a small fill light. In her own nursery, Baby sat in her 'blankie basket' for the first shot and in the 'mommy chair' for the second shot, while she played with a teddy bear.)

"In-Home Studio Sessions" are just that - I setup a portable studio lighting and backdrop system in your home and create classic portraits, all without the trip to the studio. If you are looking for that classic studio style portrait, this is a great option! You eliminate travel time to and from a studio and the need to pack and bring along changes of clothing, personal props (i.e. your toddlers favorite teddy bear), plus you can primp and prepare in your own home.

(This portrait of my son was taken in our family room, his two favorite "Thomas & Friends" ® trains are cradled in his hands, just out of the shot - this made for happy shooting!)

(This little guys portraits were done in his own living room. We had several outfit changes and he toddled around between his favorite books, toys and his older brother cheering him on from the sofa, just to the right of this portrait.)

And as always, either the Simple Setup or the In-Home Studio sessions include a CD/DVD of your photographs, ready for you to print and share as you wish! If you would like more information, please feel free to contact me at jennifer@jsphotographymn.com or visit the website.

My Little Twin – Ellie

Ellie - 7 months

This is my youngest baby Ellie. I shot this today as she played in her bouncy, toy covered seat. This, after more than an hour of trying to take six month portraits of her and her twin sister Emma. They had their own plans, portraits was not one of them. So, after putting Emma down for a nap and resigning portraits for another day, I grabbed my camera as Ellie seemed to be just thrilled in her seat and her own little world. This was the last shot on my camera for the day, and I’d say it’s a keeper.

New Featured Wedding - Justin & Marina

Here’s a quick note about a wedding that I shot back in November for Justin & Marina. Their entire wedding album can be viewed in the new Featured Wedding gallery on our main website. They had a beautiful wedding and we had so much fun out at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, where these formals where shot.

A Masquerade, a Masterpiece

This evening I had the pleasure to photograph a company party with a Masquerade theme. This was one of the most enjoyable events I’ve worked on in a while. The setting was formal, hosted at the Hilton Minneapolis, but the mood was all fun!

A Beautiful Winter Wedding in Wisconsin

Juan and Jasmyn hosted a beautiful winter wedding on a clear and frosty day this past December. Toni and I had a great time capturing all of the details. We began at Jasmyn’s hair dresser’s, who’s shop is on the lower level of her gorgeous house.

One of Jasmyn’s six bridesmaids, getting all dolled up.
